An Important Message to Our Partners:

Due to the evolving situation with COVID-19, as well as guidance from the Governor’s Office and the office of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Director Sonia Angell, we are cancelling Rethink Your Drink Day (RYDD) 2020. We continue to be impressed by your tireless efforts to inspire Californians to consume more water and fewer sugary drinks. Nonetheless, as leaders in public health, we want to comply with the guidance and direction we are asking the public to follow to help slow the spread of COVID-19 among our communities, and especially our most vulnerable populations.

How should we communicate the change in plans with RYDD to our staff, volunteers, partners, and community?

CDPH has directed that all gatherings across the state be cancelled until further guidance is issued. Please click here for additional information and visit www.cdph.ca.gov/covid19 for up-to-date guidance on COVID-19.

We encourage you to utilize or customize the email communication you received from CDPH to share with your staff, volunteers, and partners. If you’ve not distributed information to the community, there is no need to communicate the change.

Is the virtual map event listing still available on the RYDD microsite?

Since the RYDD events have been cancelled, the virtual map event listing is no longer available on the microsite.

Do you still expect to have the RYDD Event Boxes delivered by the week of May 1?

We have extended the opportunity to order an event box to March 31, 2020 (originally March 24). This order extension makes it possible for hosts to receive their RYDD Event Boxes by the week of May 8, 2020.

My office is closed now and may not reopen in time to receive a box. What can I do?

Please contact CFHL_PR@RescueAgency.com with questions. We will do our best to have the box sent directly to another address or hold a box for you until your office reopens.

Is the Step-by-Step Guide to Hosting an Event webinar still scheduled to take place on April 29?

No, this webinar will no longer take place on April 29, 2020. We welcome your comments or questions via email at CFHL_PR@RescueAgency.com.

Will the RYDD social media templates that were mentioned during the RYDD kickoff webinar be revised to reflect the changes?

Yes. The social media templates are available on the resources page. The content has been updated so it may be used anytime during the year, should you wish to hold an event at a later date.

Where can we go for RYDD resources and information?

The resources page is updated with the most up-to-date event materials for download.
